Alright, so FINALLY I'm going to be holding a CONTEST:

DESIGN YOUR OWN COSTUMES FOR THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

The costumes from the phantom of the opera are pretty legendary. From the dressing gown, to the hannibal slave girl outfits, Erik's red death to the classic half mask and black cape. We phans LOVE the costumes. But have you ever wanted to see them in something else? Have your own ideas about what Erik and Christine should've worn in those memorable moments in the show?

Well now's your chance! My first contest to show all the phans on dA what YOU think the costumes of Phantom should look like.

THE RULES
You must design your own original costume for either Christine or Erik for one of the songs/scenes of ALW's The Phantom of the Opera:

Up to 4 entries are allowed for each person, and you can design for ANY scene/song in Phantom. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT THESE COSTUMES CAN LOOK LIKE, they do not have to be time-period correct. Which means you can have gothic/punk christine if you REALLY want to, just, keep it within SOME amount of reason.

Suggestions for which songs/costumes to design for:
Think of Me (for Christine)
The Phantom of the Opera/Music of the Night scene (for either Christine or Erik)
Masquerade scene (for Erik or Christine)
Wishing you Were Somehow Here Again (Christine or Erik if you want to do Wandering Child)
The Point of No Return (for either Erik or Christine)
The Wedding scene in the Phantom's lair (Christine)

You don't have to follow these. Ask me about designing for other characters, I may allow you.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION: Erik and Christine do NOT have to look like ALW's versions (aka. blonde christine, fully disfigured Erik). I know that's weird, but if you'd prefer a blonde Christine or a fully disfigured Erik or an Erik with a black mask that's fine with me.

Designs should be clear and neat, but do not have to be inked or anything special. I DO ask that you have some color on your designs. I don't care if its simple coloring with colored pencils. You don't HAVE to color your designs, but I would suggest it. Like I said, no elaborate color is required, I just need to see it clearly.

Please link your entry to me in a note, or in a comment to this journal entry, do NOT put them on my front page, I don't check it all that often.

As of now, the deadline is currently the last day of April. The deadline can be extended as people need more time.
